Uppermill Brass Band Welcomes New Members and Bids Farewell to Thomas Partington
 

Uppermill Brass Band has announced some changes to its line-up as we look ahead to an exciting year of performances. We bid farewell to Thomas Partington, who has decided to leave the band to join Elland Silver Band as their repiano cornet player. Tom, who has long had strong links with Elland and progressed through the ranks of their youth band, will be greatly missed. We wish him the best of luck in his new musical journey.

Taking over Tom’s position on the front row is Lesley Lewis, who re-joins Uppermill with a wealth of experience. Lesley’s arrival strengthens our cornet section, and we’re excited to have her on board.

In addition to Lesley, we are pleased to announce two more new additions to the band. Robert Moorhouse has joined us on Bb bass, coming over from Hade Edge Band. His expertise and skill complete our bass section, further enhancing our overall sound. Meanwhile, Lee Kilgour joins us on third cornet, bringing his playing experience from Greenfield Band.

Rehearsals are now well underway after the Christmas period and the band are busy preparing for the upcoming Northwest Area contest. The band are in excellent form heading into the contest with a great atmosphere in rehearsals. With these new additions, Uppermill Brass Band is gearing up for an exciting year of music, with a calendar of exciting full band concerts as well as our UK tour as the brass section of Oasis Supernova.

We welcome Lesley, Robert, and Lee to the Uppermill team and wish them all the best as they settle into their new seats. Here’s to an exciting and successful year!
